The Story and Writing

Megan – We’ve seen so many stories from the side of resistance in the Age of Revelation, it’s time we got a look from the inside of the Revelation Territories. On the side of mutant supremacy is Quentin Quire, formerly known as Kid Omega.

Now, in the new world after the Gene Bomb and the X-Virus caused so much devastation, Quentin is in charge of the spy networks of the Revelation Territories.

With that comes his students, Curtis Terrell Jr., Nell Widows, Ayla Bozkurt, and Bailey Quinn who are all very young but also extremely powerful psychics.

Quentin trains these children to use their psychics abilities to spy on the resistance and find the plans of attack on the side of Revelation. He doesn’t see anything wrong with using these kids at such a young age, as he was their age when he started, but Phoebe Cuckoo begs to differ. Sticking to his guns, Quentin ensures her that he has everything handled. However, there’s a secret plan happening that even his powerful psychic abilities can’t pick up on.

Tony Fleecs, the writer of Omega Kids #1, brings a very compelling side to the world of Revelation that I want to read so much more of. Quentin being the teacher of these psychic students is a great idea, but the way he formed the story was fantastic. I’m so looking forward to reading what’s next!

Janelle â€“ With Omega Kids, this is a beautiful introduction to all the kids, and the leader Quentin Quire. It seems that they all are trying to find themselves, and take a deeper look into their powers. I also like the banter that is between the kids, and even Quentin. This story gives a clear direction, as to where it is going to go. I really enjoy the psychic abilities that they have, and I’m a big fan of the mental telepathy. Tony Fleecs has written a strong introduction, to Omega Kids.

The Art

Megan â€“ Dripping with Kid Omega’s signature purple, Omega Kids #1 is a beautifully illustrated comic. The artists go out of their way to bring gorgeous drawings that do a fantastic job at portraying the emotions of the characters. As Andrés Genolet is the artist of the comic, he’s to thank for that. Fer Sifuentes-Sujo is the colorist of the comic and gives each page its own light to shine. With lighter colors juxtaposing darks, and the signature Kid Omega purple present on nearly every page, it was hard to look away when turning the page.

Janelle â€“ The art is that standard Marvel art, that I absolutely love. Andres has the Omega Kids in identical suits, and I love that everyone matches. I also took notice of everyone’s hair styles, that are all different. I always like the small details, that bring a bigger picture to go alongside the story. I like the art overall, and hope that it continues to grab my attention when it comes to reading this comic.

Overall Grade – 9.2/10

Megan â€“ 9.1/10 Omega Kids #1 was surprising, compelling, and keeps you locked in until the final page. An excellent job done by the creative team!

Janelle â€“ 9.3/10 I enjoyed this first Omega Kids issue, and I can’t wait to read issue number two. I hope that the kids can show their powers, and display them in a heroic way.
