Three stories that are wrapped into one theme: horror. Super Creep Show #1 gives a dynamic storytelling to three heroes, who are creepily going through the same thing. I really love that each story shows exactly what happened to these heroes. The first story centers around Dr. B, and he is literally dead.
All of the sudden, after him being dead, all of these series of unfortunate events started to unfold. Again the second story, sort of ties into the first story. It brings the horror and violence out to the forefront, for the reader to experience.Â
The second story, Grave Ghost, has him playing detective to figure out why he died. It was interesting, because there are also other characters who help him out as well.
In the last story, a scientist who has been working under Dr. B, has a concoction that he has been working on for years. He ends up injecting himself and thinks it doesn’t work, but it sure does work. It tells a telling story of what he has become after having that enter his blood stream. I really enjoyed all three stories, and giving a sense of what can go wrong, when the heroes ultimately turn bad.
In terms of the art work, it’s very specific with the horror genre. It gives a gory look to the characters, and I enjoy it. It is awesome that it is going to be released in the month of Halloween. I think horror fans will definitely enjoy this book, and it does give ‘Marvel Zombies’ vibes with many of the characters. This is a great debut of some heroes that I want to see where they go in their journey.
Overall Grade: 8/10.
