An Epic War for the Planet

Captain Planet and Captain Pollution are engaging in an epic battle for the very survival of Earth. Both are very passionate about their cause, and neither will give up. Unfortunately for Captain Planet, Pollution is drawing power from his Eclipse Reactor that is powered by the powers of Gaia. However, the more power the reactor puts out, the more unstable the planet becomes. This leaves the Planteers with limited powers to try and shut down the reactor, save Gaia, and help Captain Planet win the epic battle. But at what cost will this cost our heroes?

The Power is Ours

This issue really brings the heat and amps up the action and emotions in a big way. David Pepose captures the emotions of the team and Captain Planet as they try and save the world and leaves the reader on the edge of their seat. The action is top notch, as the back-and-forth battle between Captain Planet and Captain Pollution is reminiscent of Rocky vs Drago. But equally as captivating is the Planeteers battle to save Gaia against all odds. Then you hit what happens at the end of the issue, and Pepose catches us all off guard with one of the most emotional twists of the year and possibly the decade.

The art is simply incredible and really brings the struggle to life. Eman Casallos does amazing work depicting the action sequences and the struggles that the Planeteers encounter both physical and mental. The fight scenes are impeccable, while the race against time panels are the definition of drama. Jorge Sutil does an awesome job of matching the colors up with the art perfectly, which makes the art pop out of every panel.
