A Great Storm Arrives

As Lucian Plunder has transformed into Captain Pollution, our Planeteers are fighting from their backfoot. Kwame, Gi, and Linka have put a plan into motion, but is Plunder too strong for them? Meanwhile, Ma-Ti has gotten to Wheeler and is trying to retrieve the fire ring from Plunder’s men. Can they get the ring back in time to help the other Planeteers? Is it too late for even Captain Planet to save the day?

Will Their Powers Combine!?

This issue really highlights the villainous Plunder, while showing our heroes struggling to get it together. David Pepose does an excellent job of building up the threat of the villain in this issue, well milking the emotions for our heroes. The way Pepose makes Captain Pollution seem to be unstoppable; while making our heroes the ultimate underdogs really make the reader feel for them. The emotional tie ins with characters are one of Pepose’s strongest attributes as a writer, and it really shines in this issue.

The art is absolutely fantastic and really brings the struggle to life. Eman Casallos does amazing work depicting the action sequences. The fight scenes bring the drama full circle and put the reader on the edge of their seat. Jorge Sutil does an awesome job of matching the colors up with the art perfectly, which makes the art pop out of every panel.
