In Case You Missed It: Post Malone’s Big Rig #1: Heaven is on the Road Again
The Action and Story Shifts into Overdrive
The action in this issue is immediate like the blast of a cannon. A 50 cal machine gun and the Big Rig plow through armies of undead. It’s a hoard of death that almost brings the Big Rig to a stop. It really is a high stakes rollercoaster ride through the first 3rd of this chapter!
When things calm down, we get introduced to a few survivors that were hiding. They provide us with some good conflict between Trucker , Edda, and Batu. Do they save them or leave them behind? It’s a question that provides us with some moral complexities for these characters. It also gives us a closer look of not only background of Edda and Batu’s culture and religion, but into the abilities it gives them.

The Action-Packed Artwork of Post Malone’s Big Rig
The artwork by Nathan Gooden is a blast. Gnarly creature creations stand out and feel genuinely terrifying. The action is taken to another level with amount gore and brutality.
I’m having such a great time going from a machine gun mounted to the roof of the rig to the Trucker shifting gears to the sharp tooth plow that precedes it all! Add in the sound effects lettering by Campbell and it really feels like I’m watching an action movie!
PEACEMAKER SEASON 2 SPOILER-FREE REACTION
The action isn’t the only thing Gooden excels at. The characters are dynamic and larger than life. The environments are well constructed and immersive.
Angles and detailed anatomy provide the reader with raw emotions and help tell the story. Through the use of lighting and splatters of red blood by Helmer on top of it all and you have a fine piece of work that draws you in!
Overall Grade 9/10
This issue takes us on one hell of ride and provides us with character development along the way. Malone and Wassel are moving at break neck speed, but at are still careful and precise not to lose any story along the way. There are some points at which pacing suffers from this. The artwork is phenomenal and truly the star of the book thus far. I love where this all going and the next issue looks to be as action packed as this one! Post Malone’s Big Rig is trucking it’s way onto my pull list!
