Volume 1 of Quick Stops brought us a 4 story anthology of our favorite Kevin Smith characters, including a Hicks family reunion. Then Volume 2 gave us a dark and unexpected origin story of everyone’s favorite golden cow, Mooby. Now the View Askewniverse continues in Quick Stops Volume 3.

The Story for Issue 1 of Quick Stops Volume 3
If you’ve seen the movie, Chasing Amy, then you’re familiar with the story (if you haven’t you absolutely must, and also spoilers ahead for the movie). Guy falls for girl. Girl is gay, but then unexpectedly girl falls for guy. Guy learns of some stuff she did in high school, and reacts in a very odd and insecure way. Then they break up. Tale as old as time. However, while this is a story of Alyssa and Holden, it’s a bit more.
This comic is the one Holden gives Alyssa at the end of the movie. While the movie only shows the cover and a glimpse inside, Quick Stops Volume 3, Issue 1 gives us the whole comic. Straight out of the movie. Holden finally had something personal to write about and 28 years later we all get to read it.

The Art
Almost 3 decades later and the comic art perfectly matches up to the art in the movie. Even the Easter Bunny is a dead ringer for the one Banky draws.
The black and white images look just like the characters from the movie, complete with all emotions that took place throughout the film. All the while the comic was filled with so many funny and nostalgic easter eggs.

Overall Grade: 9.5/10
If you’re a Kevin Smith fan, then this is the comic run you’re looking for. Quick Stops has been nothing but hilarious fun all while digging deeper into the timeless View Askewniverse. Volume 3 just kicked off with the perfect addition to Smith’s 1997 film, Chasing Amy. It will make you want to go back and watch Ben Affleck before he ever wondered how Superman could know someone named Martha.
You should run faster than Walter Flannagan’s dog to grab this comic. Another awesome run of Quick Stops has hit the ground running, and I can’t wait for issue 2. Snoogans!
