The Story for Archie VS. Minor Threats #1
Sabrina Spellman wants to take a human to the witches and warlocks event. To do so she needs something that is safely stored at a museum in Twilight City. Home to many superheroes, villains, and wannabes of both. In a twist of luck, Sabrina, a high schooler and teenage witch, hears that another high school in town is heading to Twilight City for a field trip. A little bit of witch craft, and she’s now a Riverdale student with Archie and friends, heading to Twilight City. However, what Sabrina doesn’t know, is that Frankie “Playtime” Follis, is literally cracking down on magic. Meanwhile poor Archie finds doing the right thing is suddenly very confusing.

The Art
The innocence of Archie, and the magical whimsy of Sabrina crashes into the darkness of Minor Threats. Since the creation of the Minor Threats universe, each story has created it’s own style of art. Each unique and beautiful. Archie VS. Minor Threats, takes it to new awesome heights by colliding worlds in story and art. Every time we see Frankie she seems to have dug herself into an even darker place. The art captured that perfectly, while also showing us a precious little Archie who has no clue the depths of hell he has gotten himself into.
The art throughout was perfect, and filled with details, nods to other Minor Threats arcs, and a range of emotions and action. I absolutely loved it from beginning to end.

Overall Grade: 10/10
Action packed, mysterious, and hilarious! Archie VS. Minor Threats kicked off perfectly. It does not matter if you’ve never heard of Jughead, a teenage witch named Sabrina, or about Frankie “Playtime” Follis, the story sucks you right in, and catches you up. All the while the story moves forward and chaos ensues. The clash of pure innocence from the Riverdale kids with the lack thereof from the Minor Threats characters creates such a fun world to navigate and play in. I can’t wait to see where this story takes us in the next three issues, and beyond.
