It’s All in Your Head…Or Is It?

John is struggling with his visons of his long dead sidekick affectionately known as Reddy. As he has discussions with Reddy, who only John can see. Sally, the former Scarlet Girl, comes into the diner to apologize for her mobster boyfriend’s actions at the diner days before. John offers her a way out of her life, and even though it seems she may take it, addiction is an anchor she can’t lift.

Meanwhile, Dr. Mayhem strikes again, this time on the subway. He injects a woman with a virus, which quickly spreads to the rest of the train. This results with 27 dead, with that death toll climbing. After hearing this news on the television, John must make the decision to either stop this madness or let it destroy Empire City. Will the Crimson Justice make “Justice Run Red” once again?

Justice Runs Red

Each time it seems the story has reached its peak, the next installment surpasses the previous one. Frank Tieri is crafting a magnificent world and absolutely drawing the readers into this world. The levels of the characters make them just the right amount complex, well at the same time making them completely relatable. The adult setting makes this a great read for an older audience, well the “reality” of the story keeps any reader’s interest.

The art in this issue is marvelous and really captures the essence of the story. Inaki Miranda does an excellent job of bringing Empire City to life and making sure the reader is truly engaged in the world. The depiction of the characters effectively conveys the transformation of once-powerful heroes into individuals who are now vulnerable and imperfect. Eva De La Cruz matches the art perfectly with the color choices, well mixing in the perfect amount of reds foreshadowing where we are going.
