Krakoa has fallen, and the best at what he does, has gone off on his own. James “Logan” Howlett, AKA the Savage Wolverine, is simply passing through a town. However, he never can seem to leave anywhere the way he found it.

The Story for Issue 1 of Savage Wolverine
With Krakoa being no more, many mutants have gone in different directions. As Logan jumps on his bike and takes off, a simple beer run gets complicated. A small town claiming to be peaceful can often be a front for so much more. As Wolverine minds his own business, he’s thrown into the town drama before he can say, “I’m the best at what I do…” In true Wolvie fashion he tries to help the little guy. As the town drama unfolds, Logan gets some unexpected help, and leaves his new friend with a very treasured and hilarious gift. One I would personally be honored to receive.

The Art
Any Wolverine art can quickly become savage, and Savage Wolverine is definitely no exception. From some beautiful backgrounds, to important details, to the epically grotesque fight scenes. The art perfectly captures the savage in Savage Wolverine. The further into the story we go, the more savage the fights and the art become.
Overall Grade: 8/10
This super issue of Savage Wolverine perfectly kicked off my favorite mutant loner. While Logan often complains he likes his alone time, he can’t ever seem to stay away from people, other mutants, or a good fight. He also can’t help but fight for the little guy, and stand up for the messed up crap in this world. SNIKT!
