The Knights are Here
After getting their settlement in order, Cheetara forms the Knights of Thundera who implement suits of armor made of Thundore. This strong material makes the Cats stronger, well also giving them stronger armor. Tygra’s design that was originally made to protect Panthero as he rehabilitates from his injuries after fighting Mumm-Ra, is now helping the Thundercats protect themselves and the Cat’s Lair.
Panthero is still on the search for Lion-O and is becoming more obsessed with said search. Calica is focused on training and making sure she can make up for running off. Cheetara is taking her role as leader seriously, as well as rekindling her romance with Tygra. But none of them are ready for the surprise that Panthero will discover, or for the enemies that are joining forces to bring their downfall.
Ghosts of the Past Return
ThunderCats #16 picks up where the last issue left off, well adding some more stakes to the story. Declan Shalvey does a fantastic job giving us the very cool Knights of Thundera, well also upping the threat level to our heroes. The threat of the bad guys joining forces, with the still missing Lion-O build up the tensions of the story. The revelation on the final page will have some interesting fallout in issues to come.
The art in this issue was wonderful and a welcome return to the art we have become familiar with in this series. Drew Moss creates some of the best character designs in all comics and he continues that in this issue. The design of the Knights Thundore Armor alone in this issue is just stunning and adds a new layer to the character design. Martina Pignedoli does an awesome job of complimenting the art with a fantastic color scheme.

Final Thoughts
ThunderCats #16 does a great job of setting up where the Thundercats universe is going in this story arc, well also delivering an epic cliffhanger ending. This issue will be the crux of the story moving forward and all the moving parts that go along with it. If you were on the fence about reading ThunderCats, this is a great issue to grab and jump in on the series. A definite addition to your Pull List at the LCS this week.
Overall Grade: 9.5/10
