Oh, the Webs we Weave
Slade meets up with the spiders and wants answers, but more importantly stresses the need to save his brother from the mite attack. He proclaims the spiders can have the amulet of Woeden after he gets what he wants. The spiders send him on a journey through the Wyrdweb to learn for himself what the meaning of being the Worldstomper is. But not even Slade could ever guess the truth he will learn.
At the same time the mite armies are bickering about their attack on the Annihirazer. Discovering that the monster they are hunting is the brother of Slade and a member of the House of Slaymaker. Wysta feels bad for her part in luring Slade to the spiders, takes it on herself to try and save Slade.
A Big Surprise
Bug Wars #5 steps the story up yet again. The more we find out about this crazy world, the more we want even more. Jason Aaron does a fantastic job creating a suspenseful world with amazing twists and turns. Speaking of twists, the swerve at the end of the story is out of left field and catches you completely off guard.
The art in this issue is amazing and follows what was set in place in the issues before it. Mahmud Asrar does phenomenal work in the structure of the world and even better work in character design. Speaking of which, the final page is one of the most awesome character designs in all comics today.
