The Time is Up

The invading forces are at bay due to the eminent nuclear warhead explosion. Meanwhile, Tariq and Ash are still locked into a battle for what is right. As Tariq tries to convince Ash that this is a terrible idea, Nate is trying to get the forces to let him help the villagers who will all be obliterated by the warhead. As the suspense builds and time starts to run out, who will survive and what will be left.

The Final Countdown

This issue hits a fever pitch of drama and suspense. As the time gets closer for the nuke to go off, and at the same time the battle between Tariq and Ash intensifies, it really creates an amazing atmosphere for this issue. Geoff Johns masterfully set all of this up, and just when the powder keg was at the peak of volatility an amazing swerve takes place. This is a master class in writing.

This issue, just like the rest of the series sports some of the best art in all of comics today. Gary Frank shows why he’s an absolute legend with his character design and attention to detail. Brad Anderson makes the art pop with his choice of colors and Rob Leigh’s letters invoke the emotion of the story.

Final Thoughts

Geiger #15 is one hell of a ride and a perfect conclusion to the Glowing Person War arc. The masterful way the story brings this chapter to an end, well setting up what’s to come is perfect. This is a series that needs to be on your Pull List and is my pick of the week at the LCS.
