Friends in Low Places

Seth escapes the serial killer by ducking into what turns out to be a secret gentlemen’s club. He meets a dancer named Bella and talks to her about his writer’s block, and his previous success with his hit novel about the Nursery Rhyme Killer. Even though he feels terrible about his part in all of it, Bella assures him he is not to blame for any of it.

As Seth settles in to write he decides to look up what has gone on with Katie Ketchum’s mother. Katie was brutally killed by the Nursery Rhyme Killer, however her Mother Dorothy does not believe the real killer was captured. Seth envisions himself witnessing a conversation between Dorothy and her estranged husband Jonathan. Suddenly Seth is rewriting what is going on, and instead of Jonathan the Killer is there. As the murder of Dorothy plays out it appears Seth is in control as he directs it. But is this a piece of fiction that he is writing or is something way more sinister taking place?

Is the Killer Real or Not?

This third issue slows the pace of the story quite a bit. But with the slower pace we get a lot more suspense and intrigue. Tyler Boss does a fantastic job of building up some great edge of your seat suspense. Mix that with a great deal of mystery that makes you question what is and isn’t real. The cliffhanger that gets dropped on the final page is absolutely a perfect way to build up the intrigue for the next issue.

The art in this book continues to be simply awe inspiring. Adriano Turtulici does an awesome job of making Giallo style art come to life in this series. The stylistic choices mixed with the perfect color scheme really nails the feel. Every panel draws your eyes in and holds your attention.

Final Thoughts

You’ll Do Bad Things #3 slows the story down and leaves the reader questioning what is real and what is not. At times it does feel a little too slow, but it redeems itself as we get to that final page of the issue. This issue is an important piece of the story as it moves forward. If this series is not already on your Pull List, you should consider adding it now.

Overall Grade: 8.5/10
