Hostage on a Train

We get a flashback of Robo-Man helping Vitruvian into a chair before he passes away, so the doctor can implant his memories into the robot. We then flash to now, where Robo-Man and Annalise are being held captive by Lord Mortus. Mortus discovers that Annalise is the daughter of Vitruvian and that he is also dead. This prospect works well for Mortus as he wants to reverse engineer Robo-Man to know Vitruvian’s robotic genius.

Meanwhile, Lady Pavlovna and the rest of La Coterie are now getting news that Vitruvian is dead. Lady Pavlovna is curious to see if there were any survivors. When she discovers Anna and Robo-Man are with Mortus, she gets a bit nervous. At the same time Special Agent Rook is being taken to task by his bosses at V.E.I.L headquarters. They are in a race to find the train that Mortus is on. Can Anna and Robo-Man break free, or will they meet their ends on this train?

More to the Story Then We Know

Issue three ups the ante and the drama that has been established in the first two issues. Matthew Rosenberg does an amazing job of building up the mystery of what is going on, well at the same time delivering some great action. The subtle reveals well adding some more intrigue at the same time really draws the reader in and makes you want more.

The art in this issue is fantastic and is a great homage to the spy genre circa 1960’s/1970’s. Stefano Landini does a fabulous job on the art design. The stunning backgrounds and scenery are only rivaled by the awesome character designs. Jason Wordie uses a color pallet that compliments the art perfectly.
