The Story:

Starting things off with Vigilante I am loving what Seeley is doing by making him this loveable idiot who is loyal almost to a fault. Following him as he is trying to find Peacemaker but, at every turn he is just tripping over his own feet and going after the wrong people make for an incredibly fun adventure to kick things off.

The side characters that come into play make the comedy land as well as each one has a uniqueness and yet are all the same idiot at the same time. Moving into the second story Rex brings in that Peacemaker comedy in his own way. The vulgarity and knack for saying the absolute worst things make the comedic moments land incredibly well.

The League of Shadows was a twist I did not see coming and ending on a cliffhanger brings about an eager seriousness and a need to get the next issue ASAP. It’s the little details in the writing such as the battle over the name Kris and the side character referring to Peacemaker as daddy that are making this story so good.

The Art and Letters:

If you are a collector based off of cover alone then look no further as Mitch gives but a taste of what we can expect to find inside of the pages. Vigilante attacking a giant robot is hilarious as Eagly rushes across. Inside Mitch is bringing these comedic moments to life such as the shocked and disturbing looks on everyone’s faces as he begins to get erotic inside of the library. The issue is not without bloodshed and a jump scare as he lands the rough and damaged texture of Mr. Saber’s face after he was attacked.

Matteo and John have a different art style however, each one works well within their respective stories. The Flash ring that Peacemaker uses for his uniform for example is well detailed and drawn and was a pleasant funny surprise that he would be using. The background tells as much of this story as what is going on in the forefront as far as smelling underwear and the various characters standing in both amazement and horror.

Pat ties the stories together weaving his lettering into the story and capturing the tone of both main characters bringing their voices to life and the action. There is also a fun mid-scene with a list of how to be a superhero I think people will enjoy.

Overall Grade: 10/10

Peacemaker Presents: Vigilante/Eagly Double Feature #2 is another hit bringing raunchy comedy and brutal action to life within its pages. This story is getting us ready for August and the stellar team working across both stories doesn’t skip a beat tying the issue together. It is an absolute must-pull for cover enthusiasts alone!
