“The comics are the living breathing… there’re sort of the heartbeat of Superman.” – Paul Kaminsky

Paul then asked the panelist what Superman means to them.

“Whenever I write him I just think of like, this is a character that can bind us and unite us and bridge all the gaps and we can just join together and love something.” – Tom King

“Superman was such an important part of me get… like why I’m here in the first place and why I love comics.” – Jason Aaron

“It’s like an immigrant story, it just happens to be that I’m an immigrant and I picked Superman as a goal at some point and now here we are.” – Clayton Henry

“I think that Superman for me is everything I want to be at some point. I want to be kind and I want to be the one that helps. I want to be, to have hope in everything so he represents everything that I want to be. Not the cape and, you know but the human part.” – Dan Mora

“For me it’s the story of a struggle, fitting in and finding himself. When I drew Jonathan Kent it’s the same process… struggle, fitting in and everything in a positive way so for me it’s a great character, not only to draw but to feel the story as well.” – John Timms
