The Ancient Threat Returns
The twins were out in the desert of Third Earth when Mumm-Ra shows up to ruin their day. They run to Panthero who is ready to take on the powerful foe, while the twins go get help. Mumm-Ra reveals that he has Lion-O and hints that he’s even killed and ate him. Panthero calls him a liar and the fight begins. Unfortunately for Panthero he gets left in a heap by Mumm-Ra.
The twins return with Cheetara and Tigre, who then must focus on not just defeating Mumm-Ra but also saving Panthero. Tigre comes up with a plan for the Cats to execute, but will it be enough to save the day? Even though they have a lot of enemies on Third Earth, there are some friends that are to be revealed.
Time to Put the Band Back Together
ThunderCats #14 dives the reader straight back into the ongoing saga of the ThunderCats. After detouring to reveal Apex officially in the main line, Declan Shalvey has another huge reveal to our heroes as Mumm-Ra makes himself known to all the Cats. At the same time teasing the fate of Lion-O and Calica rejoining the team, this issue solidifies its spot as an important issue for this next chapter in the ThunderCats line.
The art in this series continues to be top tier. The minor reimagining of these iconic characters brings the familiar while updating the look of the Cats. Drew Moss and Joe Mulvey really put some awesome action into the panels of this issue. While the rest of the art team compliments their art perfectly.
