Stealth

Written By Marguerite Bennett – Art By Luana Vecchio – Letters By Jodie Troutman

When deceiving a lover goes terribly wrong is the best description of this opening tale. As a man deceives his lady friend, only to find out what deception truly is.

There is not much of a verbal story told here, however what it lacks in words it more than makes up for in the stunning artwork. Huge shout out to Luana Vecchio for making this story come to life and teach the reader a lesson.

SKITC: A Monster Hunter Walks Into a Bar Part 4

Written By James Tynion IV – Art By Werther Dell’Edera – Colors By Miquel Muerto – Letters By Andworld Design

The Something is Killing the Children mini substory returns this issue. In this part of the story Erica Slaughter is still at the local bar, getting bored with the locals’ hypotheses about what evil has befell their town. Just when she is ready to call it a night, she finds out about the schoolteacher Vee, who not only found what was left of the children. But also feels like she was in the presence of the killer.

The story and art in this short are what we’ve come to expect from the SKITC team. James Tynion IV is showing a different side of Erica Slaughter, well crafting a grisly story of its own. Meanwhile, the art team led by Werther Dell’edera brings the words to life with some of the most awesome art on the shelves today.

You Can’t Cheat 10,000 Hours

Written By Jordan Thomas – Art By Shakey Kane – Letters By Becca Carey

A young woman is jealous of her very successful friends. This manifests itself in an online chat room, where a stranger asks her what she would give to be successful. Unwittingly she makes a half-hearted deal thinking it was a joke. However, she finds herself in the successful role, but at what cost.

This is a classic be careful about what you wish for story, with a cool ending. However, what stands out the most in this story is the original art. It has a unique look that encapsulates a very modern art style. Hats off to Shaky Kane on the art and design.

The War, Part 7

Written By Garth Ennis – Art By Becky Cloonan – Colors By Tamra Bonvillain – Letters By Pat Brosseau

This is the shocking finale of the ongoing The War story. Nikki and David must deal with the death of their baby daughter. The couple who was already fracturing are now completely shattered. As David drifts more and more into his journaling and delusions. Nikki is ready to make her stand.

Garth Ennis weaved an absolute gem with this story that played out over seven parts. The emotional roller coaster we had gone on couldn’t prepare us for how this one ended. The art is fantastic, and the final panel will leave gasping for breath.
