The Perfect Gamble

Jai is a robber, and he is in the middle of a heist. He isn’t very secretive about this, as he announces to the guards his intentions. Just as they thought they were going to bust this would be robber easily, the building is attacked by Godzilla. What seems like one heck of a coincidence is revealed to be Jai’s actual plan. Jai has figured out a way to lore Godzilla to areas he’s going to rob and use the King of the Monsters as the perfect decoy.

Unfortunately, for Jai his method has been figured out by a crew of criminals, who kidnap Jai. After kidnapping him they reveal that they want him to use his Godzilla method to steal something big. They won’t tell Jai what they are stealing and after some thought Jai agrees. On the surface it looks like the crew is taking advantage of Jai. However, that may not be the case, as the roles may actually be reversed.

Go Go Godzilla

Godzilla Heist #1 is a fresh take on a classic monster. Van Jensen has come up with a completely original story involving one of the greatest monsters in pop culture. Just when you think you know where the story is going in this first issue, we get a complete swerve and a reveal of a popular Godzilla foe. All of that and this is just issue number one.

The art in this book is unique and looks as original as the concept of the story. Kelsey Ramsay does a great job of mixing art styles to bring this world to life. The creature and character design are top notch as well. The color pallet used by Heather Breckel matches the vibe of the art and really sets this book apart from other books on the shelf.
