Ultimate Spider-Man #13:
By now, you know the deal with Ultimate Spider-Man, how the Maker made it so he never got his powers, but also how Tony Stark was able to make destiny happen and here we are!
But as we meet the new players for this acclaimed Spidey series, the new Sinister Six is a new breed of evil. Working in tandem with the Kingpin, the Six want to rid themselves of the new, heroic Green Goblin and of course Spider-Man.
Kraven has captured our two heroes in the new, exciting Ultimate universe, and after speaking to Mole Man and Mysterio, his hunt for the duo begins!
Creative Team:
Writer: Jonathan Hickman
Artist: Marco Checchetto
Color Artist: Matthew Wilson
Letters: VC’S Cory Petit
PUBLISHER: Marvel Comics
The Art:
Marco’s Kraven is wild, he’s something out of professional wrestling, yet he’s classic Kraven, with his hunt and the code he lives by.
In fact, you see in one scene that he’s feeding his hostages so that he can hunt them at full strength.
The Mole Man and Mysterio are no different, as they have ties to their iconic pasts, but also new flare and new powers.
Seeing Peter come to life with his family on the line is something that only words can take you so far. It’s the art that really. brings this amazing series to life.

The Writing:
Hickman is one of the best for a reason. Ultimate Spider-Man has been a revelation in comics much like DC’s Absolute Batman.
It takes a real master like Hickman to transform an iconic hero like Spidey and make him modern, impactful and more.
This series is just getting started and already it feels like we’ve been loving it for years.
This issue really is setting the stage for a ferocious battle between Peter and Kraven and I wouldn’t put my money on Kraven with MJ and the kids at stake.
Overall Grade: 9.5/10
I cannot wait till issue 14, as we all know the battle is going to rage! This version of Kraven is esspecially demented and Peter matches him with heroics and the heart of a true icon!
