This brand new series is introducing Agent Sue Xiang, and the underbelly of the Golden Society. It all seems like it is Sue’s calling and she’s good at investigating things. Especially it shows Sue’s earlier days on how she was raised, and how disciplined she is. It already seems like it’s going to be an ensemble comic book piece, as she brings in Hellboy.
DON’T MISS THE TOP 10!
Hellboy is a key central character, who will help Sue alongside being in the investigating scene. Hellboy is also an interesting character. He is because of his knowledge . He show Sue how she can defeat demons, and things not of the earth. I really like that they are diving into this first case that they have, head on. The creatures, not of earth, are also very strong, and it became apparent that they also wanted to destroy the world.
This just gives a taste as to what is to come next in the second issue. I want to talk about art as well. In Hellboy fashion, it displays the art beautifully. I really enjoy the action that is displayed in each panel. It still follows a “comic book standard form” of art, and I like that. It brings a reassurance that it will not stray away from what readers are used to. I’m really excited to see Sue and Hellboy’s journey as they go and battle creatures and demons on behalf of the BPRD.
Overall Grade: 8.5/10.
