Now, this is primarily centered on Draculaura, and seeing her suffer through losing her dad, the Vampire known as Dracula is not something you would expect to see happen. But you see her suffering through the grief of it during Fearleading practice, and even through her classes.

But getting to cut back to 800 years before, and see a flashback of her and Dracula was a nice touch. But that memory she had made her late for the School Board meeting with Claud Wolf and some of the other students. Now, this meeting is interesting because they are talking about the headmistress and 3 students who have gone missing.

Meanwhile, there is another person who is having a love problem. Seeing Cleo in her chemistry class, and talking about how one day Deuce is throwing stones at her window trying to get her back, and then the next day Clawdeen is all over him, you have to feel bad for her at some point.

But then we see Draculaura show up finally to class, and Lagoona and her are able to finally try to get their experiment started. Meanwhile, Cleo has had her experiment explode on her, in a very funny turn of events for her.

From there, getting to see Frankie and Clawdeen in the Creepateria is a nice change for this issue. And it’s nice to see Frankie talking about how she’s worried for her dad. And then seeing the 2 of them check in on Draculaura was also nice to see.

We then cut to Cleo and Deuce in the hallway, and they seem to be trying to work things out between each other. And right after Deuce points out that Cleo has changed, and doesn’t know if he can deal with her changing, we see them kiss. And the issue ends with Ghoulia watching this happening while hiding behind a wall.

Final Score: 10

Jacque and her team have continued to show why this is one of IDW’s best comics of 2024. The story and art continue to get better and better every issue. And the relations between characters are also getting more and more interesting.
