Amazing Spider-Man #59:
LET’S GET CRAZY!! Damn, Tombstone wasn’t lying! This is the issue we’ve been waiting for, as we continue the battle between Spidey and Tombstone, the action is about as fast-paced, frenetic and thrilling as one could ever imagine.
Lonnie is still trying to take out his daughter for testifying against him, but if we know Peter Parker, he’s not about to let that happen. He’ll also drops some pearls of wisdom while he’s busy being the hero.
Creative Team:
Writer: Zeb Wells
Artist: John Romita JR
Inker: Scott Hanna
Letters: VC’S Joe Caramagna
Color Artist: Marcio Menyz
PUBLISHER: Marvel Comics
The Art:
THE ART MAKES THIS ISSUE!! The dialogue isn’t much, but it doesn’t need to be.
It’s the art that makes the characters move and stand up and fight, when they both have had enough.
This is an issue Spidey fans won’t soon forget as we’ve seen classic showdowns over the years, but this one immediately rises to the top!
The Writing:
Like I said, it’s not about the dialogue, but the few words we get are impactful.
It’s an epic battle and some of the lines we get from both Tombstone and Spidey are classic hero against villain.
“Let’s finish this” and “I wasn’t just saving her” are just a few of the lines that really resonate with comic fans.
I genuinely had chills while turning the page and even read a few pages twice.
Overall: 9/10
Man oh man, next week will conclude this run, but honestly I don’t want it to end.
The last few months have been some of the best we’ve seen in years in my opinion.
It really feels like a blockbuster movie type of feel and we should enjoy it while it lasts.
