“If Wolverine’s on the Team, That Ain’t Really The Avengers”
Issue #2 opens with the Ultra Guard & The Avengers putting together a gameplan while still warming up to the idea of working together. As the team splits up to tackle each of their side missions to prepare for Galactus, we have doubts that they may be able to work cohesively.
One of the hurdles they need to tackle is getting the energy tanks from the United Science Patrol. Executive Director Morheim is less than excited to be introduced to The Avengers. At the end of the day the best the team can hope for is the enemy of my enemy to help their cause.
Meanwhile, Ultraman & Captain Marvel are fighting Kaiju in the city. After dispatching them Galactus makes his grand entrance. Ultraman tries to talk it out with Galactus, but as you would assume it doesn’t work out. Now there is only one option left.
Avengers Assemble
This second issue of UltraMan x Avengers continues the story in a very coherent way. Kyle Higgens & Mat Groom are weaving together a great crossover. Just like issue one, they give equal time to both teams and do so without feeling forced. The character development is next level, which makes you care about them more.
The art in the book compliments both brands and gives the book a unique yet familiar feeling. Francesco Manna really builds the world that we are in, with special shoutouts to Matt Milla for the amazing color pallet.
