The next evening Ezra and Will go to town to buy some supplies to which Ezra notices an individual off in the distance and the two return home. It is discovered to the audience Ezra is a vampire and instead of hunting humans hunts animals to quench his thirst which alludes to a deeper and darker past. As the issue ends there is a presence on their property and Ezra beckons Will to grab the guns.

The Art:

The story has a very realistic feel to the art style. It’s almost as though you are a bystander in the story watching the events unfold. The level of detail in each person and the background is some very next-level talent showcased that should draw in readers immediately.

The Story:

The story starts off in a happy way it’s just a father and son on a hunt and learning about life. However, you can tell something sinister lies underneath and as the story draws on Kudranski does an excellent job building the feeling of dread.

Overall Thoughts:

The underlying sense of horror and dread works well for this story. It really brings a crisis of faith and meaning of life which isn’t something I expected yet I enjoyed.

The art and writing go hand in hand and if you’re looking to still get your Halloween fix this is a perfect dessert for fans. Image continues to knock it out of the park when it comes to horror comics.
