Resident Evil Movie Celebrates Ticket Sales With More Posters And A Final Trailer

Published:

The New Resident Evil movie is premiering September 18th and shaping up to be the highest-grossing film of the franchise. The film is expected to gross 40 million at opening weekend, easily the highest-grossing film of director Zach Cregger’s career. It also marks the highest projected opening for the Resident Evil Franchise. According to IGN, the film will be the biggest opening from the franchise in history. The film coincides with opening ticket sales, including IMAX. Cregger filmed Resident Evil for IMAX, making it the first new release since Nolan’s The Odyssey (The irony being how the main character Bryan seems to go on his own odyssey during the film.)

Sony also celebrated Resident Evil by releasing a number of new posters and a new IMAX trailer. The Resident Evil movie has prided itself on being a major deviation from the traditional resident evil adaptations focusing on the characters. Cregger has been said to focus more on the world of Resident Evil itself. Check out the posters below!

The first poster features Bryan (Austin Adams) looking absolutely horrified. The second poster is reminiscent of older posters with a similar color palate, albeit unintentionally.

Sony also dropped a brand new IMAX trailer, focusing on the idea of seeing the film in IMAX. Horror films in IMAX are rare but not too rare. Resident Evil won’t be the first one released in IMAX either (that distinction belongs to Resident Evil: Afterlife in 2010.) Still, the idea of seeing Resident Evil in IMAX with updated technology?
