Dark Horse is back with Issue #2 of Magic: The Gathering: Untold Stories- Elspeth. Writer Dan Watters, Artist Owen Gieni, Colorist Hilary Jenkins, and Letterer Clayton Cowles have written another beautiful issue.
Read Magic: The Gathering: Untold Stories- Elspeth #1 Review

I said it with Issue #1, but Owen’s art in this issue is so beautiful. We really get to see everything that Elspeth is going through with this issue. Owen has also shown just how much this character is willing to go through. Add in Hilary’s coloring work and Clayton’s lettering, and this issue is so beautiful.
Meanwhile, Dan’s writing has leveled up on this issue. He has shown that he understands this character and everything about her. He has also evolved the world of Theros so much with the comic book. I love his take on this part of Magic’s lore.
Now, in this issue, we get to see Elspeth heading into Theros’s underworld. She is heading to find a man she both loved and lost. Meanwhile, we also see that the God of Fate has some other plans for Elspeth.
Overall Grade: 10/10
This comic is only 2 issues in, and is quickly becoming a fantastic read. Anything Magic: The Gathering is awesome, and expanding the lore is always a bonus. I cannot wait to see what’s coming in the final 2 issues.
