We kick off with the team trying to make a plan to get on the boat. Before a full plan is made, Grog rushes the ship’s guards and attacks them. The rest of the team follows, and a fight breaks out. After that, Keyleth heals Vax, and then they find the spirits/souls of those who were in contact with the poison.
Everyone is trying to figure out how to save the souls, and then the Frankenstein-like creature shows back up. Vax gets knocked out by him, and everyone is trying to attack him. While that is happening, Keyleth heals Vax and then gets stabbed by the witch. The creature gets burned by a fireball, punches the witch, and then she kills him.
She then turns into a Demon-Illusionist and starts stabbing everyone. By this point, Grog bomb rushes a wall and goes to attack her. He then pushes her into the spirits, and she gets vaporized by them. We then see a man at the docks drop rocks from his pockets onto the dock.
The team then escapes the burning ship, Vax heads back to The Clap’s HQ, and the merchant from the first issue gets recruited by a mysterious force in the final panel.
Overall Grade: 10/10
I loved rereading this volume and one of the early adventures that the team encountered. I cannot wait for Vol. 5 to be released and to see what happens next.
