Now, we start off on the ship with a Frankenstein-like creature drawing a sigil with an acid-like liquid. He then goes and notices that a cell is empty, and Vax proceeds to climb out. Meanwhile, Vex and Keyleth are walking in the woods and are having a conversation.
We then cut back to the ship, and 2 men are walking in the hallways. A Half-Orc then notices the torch is gone, and Vax tries to knock him out with it. They end up in a fight, and Vax kills him. He then proceeds to take the keys, the dagger, and some armor bits and continues walking.
Vex and Keyleth then investigate a dead gator. From there, they have another conversation and head to a cave. We then see them outside of a cave. We cut back to the boat, and Vax is running as the Frankenstein-like creature shows back up. We then head back to Vex and Keyleth outside the cave. We then see Vex’s pet bear Trinket show up.
Back on the boat, Vax is spotted by the witch and monster, and the witch tries to shock Vax, but that doesn’t work. The monster then goes and stares him down. We then see the party at the docks, and they have a conversation. It’s at this point that a hole is blasted in the side of the ship, and Vax jumps out of the side of the ship.
Vex then runs over to him and apologizes. We then see the team having a talk about what to do next, with the final panel showing Scanlan saying the team should burn the boat to the ground.
Overall Grade: 10/10
We are just 1 issue away from the re-release of this first volume finishing up. I loved everything about this issue, and cannot wait to see what happens at the end.
