The Hunt Begins
Hector Plasm is a man who can see ghosts and is tasked to take out witches to protect humanity. He is gifted with spectral plasma which adds him to his missions. Well on a mission to take out a shotgun wielding ghost, and the witch that controls it, he stumbles upon some grisly murders in the small-town Monkey Ridge. What makes the killings interesting is that they appear to have been carried out by the mythical Bigfoot.
Fun in the Pacific Northwest
This first issue sets the super fun and absurd tone of this story. Benito Cereno does an amazing job of introducing us to this unique and fun character. Cereno’s choice of putting such a unique character into a world with a possible murderous Bigfoot, speaks volumes to the fun this book is bringing. The whimsical humor mixed with a truly absurd story, really sets the tone for where this story will be heading.
The art in this book is as fun as the story is. Derek Hunter does a great job of bringing this zany world to life. The fun cartoon look of the characters really encapsulates the fun nature of the story. Even the gory images of death are turned into a fun cartoon look to keep the continuity going. Spencer Holt matches the cartoonish art perfectly with a colorful palette.

Final Thoughts
Hector Plasm: Hunt the Bigfoot #1 is a super fun and entertaining book. The cartoon art style matches the tone of the story perfectly, to really give the reader a truly fun joyride. The absurd story wouldn’t work under any other circumstances, but in this case, it works really well. If you are looking for a fun read that will thoroughly entertain you, this is the book for you.
