Monster High: House Haunters #1- Haunted Weekend Getaway

It’s a Spooky Sleepover. Writer Ben Khan, Artist Sonia Liao, Colorist Rebecca Natly, and Letterer Johanna Nattalie have made a beautiful 1st issue.

We start off with a view of a cabin in the woods. Clawdeen, Cleo, Draculaura, Frankie, and Lagoona are heading towards the cabin. They are talking about what they are going to do while at the cabin. We then see them pull up to the cabin and walk inside it to check it out. 

The comic then cuts to the school, and we see Toralei and Deuce together. They are cleaning up after a volcano exploded during the Mad Science Fair.

They did end up winning the Boo Ribbon, and then try to hurry up and clean the lava to meet up with the ghouls at the cabin. They both then get to the car rental lot, and they take a dog sled to the cabin. 

Back at the cabin, Clawdeen is tearing up both the curtains and the pillows. Her and Clawdeen then see the singing fish on the wall.

Meanwhile, Frankie and the others are also looking around, and Frankie and Draculaura then find a hidden lad under the cabin. A laptop is then found, and a video is played off of it. 

After that, Lagoona is outside a door when a ghostly figure shows up outside of it. We then proceed to see this spirit terrorize the other ghouls. The final panel shows purple light coming out of the cabin. 

Overall Grade: 10/10 

Ben Khan and their team really knocked this first issue out of the park. Monster High fans will fall in love with this mini-series, and they will enjoy reading it over and over again.
