Hello there! Padawan J here, the resident Star Wars expert from the ODPH! This week, I’m going to be reviewing the 6th issue of Star Wars: Jedi Knights from Marvel Comics!

Jedi Master Fondar Etzis is dead, and Jedi Knight’s Mace Windu, Aayla Secura & Qui-Gon Jin are looking into the circumstances surrounding his death! But is everything not as it appears? Let’s jump into it!

Star Wars: Jedi Knights #6 by Marc Guggenheim (Writer), Madibek Musabekov (Artist), Luis Guerrero (Color Artist) & VC’s Clayton Cowles (Letterer) is another great issue in the series that is sure to delight everyone!

The Story

Marc Guggenheim is a tremendous storyteller and this issue is a very great example of that! The story is great from start to finish, and is a real page turner. You really don’t have to be a die hard fan of Star Wars to enjoy this story because it’s very accessible to everyone.

I really enjoyed the mystery and intrigue that was prevalent throughout every page. I’m not saying you have to go full Knives Out with the story, but I really do think a murder mystery setting works very well in Star Wars today. The universe is big enough and you can get creative with it that I think it would really work.

I also really liked the ending of the issue. I’m not going to spoil it, but it was a nice twist from what I was expecting. Obviously we know how the story is ultimately going to end, but I was taking that extremely literally. I’m glad to say I wasn’t totally right, but that’s okay!

The Artwork

Madibek Musabekov & Luis Guerrero continue to blow me away with how good their work is. They have some of the most crisp, detailed work you’ll see at the comic shop each week. I love the colors used and how distinct everything is between scenes. The battle on Mina-Rau really stands out as a highlight for the issue.

FINAL POINT: A fantastic story from Marc Guggenheim, together with tremendous artwork from both Madibek Musabekov & Luis Gurerero make this an issue you don’t want to miss! It’s an easy to pick up series that should be in everyone’s pull list, and is one of the best series in Star Wars right now!

Overall Grade: 9/10
