PREDATOR KILLS THE MARVEL UNIVERSE #1: To Kill a Hero

Published:

For centuries, the Yautja have visited planets and turned them into hunting grounds. However, most recently, they have had a run-in with a slew of heroes from Earth, to which an unlikely ally may have given them the edge they needed to conquer the planet.

PREDATOR KILLS THE MARVEL UNIVERSE #1 by Benjamin Percy, pencils by Marcelo Ferreira and Daniel Piccioto, inks by Jay Leisten and Daniel Piccioto, colors by Frank D’Armata, letters by Clayton Cowles, and cover by Leinil Francis Yu and Matt Milla may be the last time we see our beloved heroes.

Percy has crafted compelling storylines starting with Wolverine, then Black Panther, and Spider-Man that have all led to this moment where there is a piece of each laid cleverly within this moment.

We didn’t know it then but, the Yautja have been preparing for the ultimate takeover and the lightbulb hit as soon as this issue kicked off.

He also lets us know right away that nobody is safe, as Ben goes after Marvel’s “big game” straight away, which leaves us with the feeling that we have no clue who may be next in line to fall. Marvel had promised us something big with this story and issue one delivers in a major way.

The art team really gives us it all in this first issue holding nothing back. Delivering a massive one shot panel of Predator X was breathtaking and terrifying all at the same time.

The Yautja are decorated in various ways that allow them to stand out individually and the team gives details and nods to their rich history throughout their time in this issue.

Every death in this is absolutely brutal and bloody. They certainly loved taking off the heads of our characters, which I have a feeling won’t be the last time we see their heads either. This issue is violent, and each death hits right in the chest and… will blow your mind as well.

I thought I was ready for what this issue would bring us; however, issue 1 of Predator Kills the Marvel Universe is every bit violent and brutal as expected, but elevated to 11, surpassing every expectation and making it known right away that nobody is safe.
