Visit with a Killer
In search of answers to who the Doll Killer is, and also to understand how he fits into these murders, Seth visits Jack Quinn in prison, the Nursery Rhyme Killer. Well questioning Quinn, it becomes clear that Quinn really enjoys it. He takes pleasure in hearing about what’s happening and Seth’s part in all of it. Furthermore, he alludes that the whole thing is Seth’s fault as his addiction to writing is creating a world for this killer to operate. He just needs to stop writing, but like an addict he can’t.
Meanwhile, the detectives are trying to get the jump on the next potential victim, as they have figured out that there is an order for the victims. As they try and get to Mr. Thompson before the killer does, they discover that Mr. Thompson is already gone and he put up quite the struggle. In a twist of events, we discover that Seth and Bella have kidnapped Mr. Thompson in hopes of using him as bait, so they can catch the Doll Killer and end this nightmare.
The End is Near
This issue sets the table for the final issue and builds suspense to a crescendo. Tyler Boss taps into a Silence of the Lambs feel and really delivers on a final twist before the conclusion next month. This issue, much like the series, has done an excellent job of keeping the reader guessing what will happen next. Going into the final issue, and we are still not sure of how it will end.
The art is simply stunning and captures the world of giallo perfectly. Adriano Turtulici really delivers some of the best art in this series. Making every panel stand out and really suck the reader in. The character designs are spot on, well the color schemes draw your eye in. As good as the story is, the art matches it and then some.
