Aida is a sweet girl, who cares about others feelings, and dealing with regular school problems. Even though she knows that she is more than what she is capable of. When she meets with the headmaster, she still does not know what power she will be assigned. I like how they kept that in the dark, and can build on that in the rest of the comic run.

In this debut, The UnChosen follows 13 year old Aida, who is quite clumsy and a bit shy. The protagonist of this comic is super important, and immediately is introduced to several threats.
I did like that she had to quickly think on her feet, but two people came to her rescue immediately. I would’ve liked it to be spread out a little bit, when it comes to threats.
One other thing that I wished that they did is get into a little of a backstory of the two people that saved her. I feel like I know nothing about any other character, other than Aida.
I’m sure that the writer will go into more detail later on in the run. I am very impressed with how fast paced it is. I never have to wait for any of the action to move forward.Â
In terms of the art, it is beautiful and very realistic. It kind of reminds me of almost all manga and anime series I’ve watched online. I like that it gives individual features to each character. I also like the colors, and I can see the action when each character is doing something.
Overall, I’m interested to see where Aida lands on her journey. Looks like magic and other elements might come into play. I really hope that Aida also finds her power, and becomes as powerful as the other two characters. Or, even strong than they are and for her to make a difference in her world.
Overall Grade: 8/10.
