The Story:
Eddie’s family name and reputation threaten D&D games in both 1979 and 1985 as party members wrestle with whether or not to trust him enough to play with him.
The Writing:
Houser and Campbell continue to encapsulate how important D&D can be to people with this story. At the end of the day, this series is about Stranger Things and the characters that we know and love. However, the real heart of the story is coming through in the found family and relationships that form during these games. This writing team deftly pull at the heart strings, making you care more about these individuals and their struggles that lead them into season 4. I’m looking forward to seeing how they line this series’ ending up with the beginning of the previous season of Stranger Things.

The Art:
The art team of Glaindo and Sousa kept their streak of fantastic artwork going. As always, the characters looked great, the action was top notch, and the panel layout and designs flowed perfectly. The two standouts for me in this issue were the wonderful expressions of emotion on the character’s faces and the excellent action in the D&D sessions. The cover give the feel of classic D&D artwork and is just a beautiful work of art.
Overall Grade: 9.5/10
As this series heads towards it’s finale I find myself intrigued and disappointed. Intrigued at how this series will tie up, and disappointed that it will be over so soon. This book has made me miss these characters even more than I already did. However, it has been a wonderful story that has been keeping me satisfied until Stranger Things Season 5 drops.
