The Hunt is On

Jerome is now fully in his role as the new Shepard. His first mission is to capture two sisters, who as demon’s consume the dead at their funeral parlor. As the sisters discuss future snacks, mixed with the bodies they already have. Jerome introduces himself as a grieving husband, but the sisters see right through it. He ends up capturing them and delivering them to the Hell Mouth.

We get introduced to Toby, who is a friend of Jo’s. They meet up and talk about Toby’s date and the odd way he hid his sexuality from his mother. As they part ways, Jo goes home to help Nani with dinner, while Toby heads to his job at the dinner. After getting home Jo is surprised by her dad, Jerome coming home. They spend a fun night together. But Jerome’s hunt forces him out of the house and to hunt a friend.

It’s Your Choice

Living Hell #2 builds perfectly on the story from issue 1. We get some more character development, while being introduced to new problems and situations. The sisters’ mini story is fun and graphic. Well, the story with Toby and Jo is funny and heartwarming. Add in two twists at the end, and a Mystery Science Theater 3000 reference, and you have one hell of a recipe.

The art in this book is incredible. The panels are easy to follow and jump off the page. The color pallet brings the vibe where it needs to be. When it comes to creatures and some gore, this book delivers at a high level.

Final Thoughts

Living Hell #2 is a flawless follow up to issue one. A fresh look at mythology, well telling a family story with some comedy and gore mixed in. This series is only 2 issues in, and it’s becoming one of my favorites currently at the shop. Add this series to your Pull List immediately and enjoy the ride.

Overall Grade: 10/10
