The Final Chapter

Jumping into the final chapter of the Venom War: Deadpool miniseries, the third installment starts right where we left off. Princess bonded with Deadpool after she was critically injured by Poison making Princess Deadpool which I really didn’t know I needed to see. It was a creative way to make Deadpool even more involved with the Venom War and have him actually bond with a symbiote. Poison, who lost his cool and started killing enemies and allies alike, finally came to his senses when he saw humans fearing for their lives. Now all of the monsters are fighting on the same side against the zombiotes to protect the city and the humans that live in it.

But as it turns out, Deadpool has had a secret plan all along and that plan became apparent when Agent Mobius showed up. I have to say, I really enjoyed that twist as I didn’t see it coming and as random as it was, it answered a question or two that I had.

All in all, I found this to be a great ending to the Deadpool’s Venom War miniseries. I thought the miniseries was a lot of fun with exciting characters that played really well off of each other. Cullen Bunn really went out of his way to make this series less about the Venom War itself, and more about the characters fighting the Venom War. With characters like Morbius, Frankenstein’s Monster, Poison, and Man-Thing, this was sure to be a fun ride, and it absolutely was one.

The artists of Venom War: Deadpool #3 really nailed having the grittiness of the horror aspect from the characters while having it still be a fun Deadpool comic. The lettering, the colors, the characters, all added so much impact to an already fun story. I think they did really well on Princess Deadpool’s look, which makes me want to see that happen more in the future. With Poison, the artists made him terrifying but so compelling to watch that I was hoping to see him more in the future.

Final Thoughts

I’ve been saying that Venom War: Deadpool is the most fun miniseries to come out of the Venom War, and I still stick to that. It’s the seriousness of the Venom War, but with the same fun vibe as a Deadpool comic. Hats off to the creative team because I genuinely enjoyed myself through the run!
