Wolverine Revenge by Marvel Comics

With the recent release of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ Logan is so hot right now. Some amazing Wolverine stories have been gracing our comic book stores lately, and this is no different. Wolverine REVENGE kicks off 10 days after Asteroid M burned up on reentry and Magneto died. His death led to a global black out.

The Story for Issue 1

While the rest of the world struggles to survive, Wolverine is riding and fighting dinosaurs in The Savage Land. Completely unaware of the apocalyptic sized event, until a few visitors show up looking for his help. However, things take an unexpected very dark turn, as their mission is interrupted by an old pal whose favorite hobby is torturing Wolverine. Unfortunately, Sabretooth seems to be the least of their worries.

The Art

From palm trees and dinosaurs in The Savage Land, to explosions and snow. The art in Wolverine REVENGE, perfectly sets each scene with details and beautiful colors. Meanwhile, the temperament of Wolvie takes a major shift with the story, and his expressions and demeanor matched those feelings so well that they can be felt just from the art.

Wolverine REVENGE Rating 9/10

We start with a fun loving, joke making Wolvie, and we end with what looks to be the Wolverine about to go full berserker. With the world on the brink of extinction, and only a few left to fight for it, the remainder of mutant and humankind need the help of the best there is. After the events in this issue that are clearly leading to a full on berserker raged Wolverine, it’s probably good, that what he does best isn’t very nice.

Any and all Wolverine or X-Men fans, need to add this one to their pull list. This first issue set the tone for a dark story, and I can’t wait to see what comes next. We’re left with what looks like a hopeless situation, however, Sabretooth’s favorite little runt, is too often underestimated. SNIKT!
