The Outsiders #7:

Jakita is immune and has been to the end of time and the world and then back again. Is she insane, or is there more to the tales she tells Luke and Kate? In search of her friends, she has seen it all except that which weaves the threads of confusion, and it’s up to Kate and Luke to believe her and help or turn a blind eye.

The Writing:

This issue leaves us with an ominous feeling as something looms on the horizon. The Hivemind does a beautiful job in building up the suspense. Each issue of The Outsiders takes us to a new world all within the playground we have been playing in, keeping the story fresh and intriguing. Tom does an excellent job accenting this mysterious tale throughout the lettering; combined, we continue to go deeper into this universe. It’s not easy to keep things fresh with each issue, but the team has done an excellent job once again.

The Art:

Both Robert and Valentina continue to be a standout in this series. Multiple one-shot panels showcase the Justice League heroes in the background that come off vibrantly yet stay in the background without overtaking our main focus. We travel to different worlds and even to the end of nothing and the various locations all feel vastly different. I quite particularly enjoyed the use of colors going from dark to bright enhancing the overall tale.

Overall:

Outsiders continue to be a sleeper hit for DC as it is continuously trippy and unique, keeping the reader highly engaged and hanging on the hook. This has become a standout for me and more people should be adding this to their pull list!

9.5/10
