Tabitha is a detective who has caught onto the string of artists that have passed away recently taking her to the doorstep of Matty Barnes girlfriend Lucy, who is on a hunt of her own. Little do they know they are up against time with Mr. Cherish growing frantic over the mysterious paintings he has been receiving..

Creative Team: Christian Ward, John J. Pearson, and Hassan Otsmane-
The Story:
I’m a sucker for multiple storylines going on simultaneously all headed toward a single point of convergence. This issue sets up three parties wonderfully and even deepens the mystery as Lucy find out that Matty may have been lying the entire time. I really love how Lucy and Tabitha are unknowingly on the same case. Christian is threading these plot points slowly bringing them intersecting and setting up more tension at the same time. We still don’t know a thing about Mr. Cherish except that he is willing to take out anybody he needs to in order to not ruin his ultimate goal.
The Art:
John’s art is layered across the panels as the background always has something to stop and look at. The pieces of art hung in the background with the characters stand out intriguingly which if I am being honest left me looking for clues as well. I love how our villains wear sunglasses and we never see their eyes. Something about this detail stands out to me and makes them more menacing all at the same time. This artistic and painted style of art fits the tone so perfectly and I cannot wait to see what more is to come.
Final Thoughts:
The Patron #2 is adding layers of intrigue and mystery to this story while bringing storylines and characters on a head on collision. If you aren’t reading this run yet that needs to change immediately!
Overall Grade: 10/10
