Catch up with Spider-Man: Noir #3!

The Story

Times are getting crazier and crazier, and Peter is the one who has to deal with the craziness. There’s a serial killer on the loose that’s sucking the life out of his victims until they resemble raisins, and everyone is in dismay. Aunt May even calls Peter to tell him he has to look for the killer to save the people of New York, which he was going to do anyway.

Once Peter makes contact with the killer, he realizes that this is the same guy who was being experimented on in Helga Haag’s Nazi lab. Peter doesn’t know what to expect, but he attacks the killer anyway, resulting in a devastating takedown of Spider-Man. Peter, who wakes up in someone else’s house, realizes how weak he really is. He hasn’t felt this way since before he was Spider-Man! So, he heads to Aunt May’s house, where he is accused of being the killer! There are so many things happening, Peter is trying to wrap his head around it all!

The Writing

Erik Larsen continues the wild tale of Spider-Man Noir, who is up to his ears in everything happening around him. He has a killer on the loose, he is being accused of being said killer, and he still has to deal with Gwen and her need to uncover the identity of who Spider-Man is. With everything happening in the story, there also seems to be a lot being set up in the way of the serial killer, who has now taken on a new identity. With all of this happening, Larsen expertly fits everything into the comic without it feeling rushed, but with a very even flow of events.

The Art

The artists do a superb job at bringing the excitement of the story to the artwork. With excellent action panels involving Peter and the new foe, there’s a lot of excitement throughout the comic. Andrea Broccardo brings a lot of depth to the pages of Spider-Man Noir #4 with his fantastic work in the drawings. There’s excellent detailing work on every page that’s complemented very well by the colors, thanks to Rachelle Rosenberg. All of this is wrapped up in a perfect bow with the dialogue thanks to the lettering talents of Joe Sabino. The artists knocked it out of the park yet again!

Final Thoughts

Spider-Man Noir #4 does a great job at continuing the exciting story while adding even more factors that takes the energy to new heights! Excellent story, excellent artwork, all around a fun time!
