The Darkness #1- Darkness Is Back (And Better Than Ever)

The Darkness is back. Image Comics and Top Cow Productions are back with a new story for The Darkness. This has an all-star creative team, including:

• Writer: Marc Slivestri 
• Artists: Sal Regia, John Livesay & Matt “Batt” Banning 
• Colorist: Arif Prianto 
• Letterer: Troy Peteri

Sal, John, and Matt’s art in this first issue is amazing. The 3 of them combined have created a masterpiece of epic proportions. Every page sucks you into the book’s art and it is quite amazing. All of the action scenes as well are beautifully done. Combine in Arif’s coloring work with Troy’s lettering, and this story looks amazing. 

Meanwhile, this comic is the brainchild of Marc Silvestri, and you can clearly see and feel it when you read it. He writes this character so well, and I love it. Marc has this way of being able to write characters and stories really well, and this book is the perfect example of that. 

Speaking of the story, our main character, Mafia Hitman Jackie Estacado, is back for another story. This first issue is amazing and sets up for what’s coming in future issues. Also, the fight scenes were amazing in this. 

Overall Grade: 10/10 

Marc Silvestri and co. have outdone themselves with Issue #1. It had everything you would expect, and then some. I cannot wait for Issue #2 to drop.
