MINOR THREATS: The Last Devil Left Alive #2 – Time to Face the Past

Published:

Frankie AKA Playtime hasn’t been seen in years. Until recently. A new threat is emerging, and she can’t continue to hide forever. Especially when Scalpel, her former lover and business partner is being attacked. Issue 1 followed Scalpel. We saw how she’s dealing with life 3 years after Frankie’s spiral (as seen in Minor Threats: The Fastest Way Down). She’s still got a lot of resentment, and now she’s got someone trying to murder and literally replace her.

The Story for Issue 2 of MINOR THREATS: The Last Devil Left Alive

With Scadlock moving forward with his evil plans, Frankie continues to put together her team. We kick off with The Searcher. If you’ve been enjoying the Minor Threats universe for awhile, you’ll immediately recognize her. She’s seemed to be the one thread connecting all the different comic books in the world of Minor Threats. However, here we see her like we’ve never seen her before: normal. Some other familiar (and not familiar) faces pop up as well, as Frankie is creating a team, only a mother could love.

As Frankie’s pitiful recruiting comes crashing down, she’s suddenly faced with an old foe. However, this foe has a new teammate that throws a comically big wrench into Frankie’s evil, but not evil, plan. Meanwhile, the world’s most adorable barfly stocks up with the essentials that every “supervillain” team needs.

The Art

In a world with the most off the wall and unique superpowers (which says a lot these days), the art perfectly portrays them all. Complete with beautiful explosions, visible eye rolling, and amazing details throughout.

While this world is a hilarious off the wall place, the characters are still grounded with real emotions. The art portrays that so perfectly that one second you’re feeling empathy for a character. Then the next you’re laughing at them.

Overall Grade: 10/10

Another amazing story with laugh aloud moments, and real human emotion. This comic truly has it all. If you’re new to this world, I can’t recommend this comic enough! If you’re not new to this world, you’re gonna have a lot of fun Leonardo DiCaprio moments. Minor Threats: The Last Devil Left Alive is doing a fantastic job of weaving this entire world together, while still allowing each story to be stand alone enjoyable.

One of the new characters we met is, Sid the Grid. He’s another example of how creative this world is. He has super powers like literally never before seen. It always makes me wonder, what the hell they’ll come up with next! I can honestly say I’m never disappointed. As long as my precious Sh!teater stays safe.
