Well Capes is back and this corner of the Invincible Universe will be explored once again from one of your favorites creators in all of fandom – Robert Kirkman.

The Art:

From the initial splash page, you feel the world and the excitement of the Invincible Universe.

Englert always brings the fun. The opening fight against Medallion is everything you’d expect from Englert and Kirkman, full of action and humor.

Englert has such a classic style that really makes you feel at home if you are an Invincible fan.

Each character is drawn to perfection, no tiny detail left out!

The Writing:

Kirkman is a master of world building and it’s amazing to see this book back after more than 20 years.

There are so many little eggs pointing to not only Invincible, but the original Capes series from 2003.

While the first 10 pages has a lot to take in as we set the tone for the rest of the series, it’s still light and funny, just how Kirkman likes his books.

It’s this blend of humor and substance that really resonates with readers and makes his projects so easy to bring to other platforms like streaming shows and video games.

Overall Grade: 9.5/10

Kirkman does it once again! He and Englert have brought Capes back to life after two decades and fans are going to absolutely adore this book. It’s everything you want from this duo, but most of all it leaves you asking for more!
