Half of the crew is dead, and the other half is running for their lives as there is something else aboard the Event Horizon. This is your Captain speaking, does anybody read me?

Creative Team: Christian Ward (WRITER), Tristan Jones (ARTIST), Pip Martin (COLORS), Alex Ray (LETTERS), and Jeffrey Alan Love (COVER).
*SPOILERS AHEAD*
The Story:
Christian brings an issue full of dread and utter chaos as Hell is loose aboard the ship. It’s hard to know what is real and what is not, and every panel is full of existential dread for ourselves and our crew members. This really is the perfect horror tale as you can feel the panic in every word that is spoken, thanks in part to Alex’s letters aiding Christians wicked tale. I’m both sucked in and unsure of what happens next but, I have a morbid curiosity to continue on to find out!
The Art:
Pip and Tristan effectively utilize detail and color to convey horror and a sense of impending doom, making them integral to the story. It feels as though the ominous background works as its own character in a twisted manner. We’ve encountered a demonic being with glass protruding from its head, and there is a blend of details throughout this character that I cannot help but linger on. The use of red works in tandem with the shadows as they play off of our characters in stark contrast.
Final Thoughts:
The gates of hell are wide open in Event Horizon Dark Descent issue 3. There is chaos and death all around, and the team working on this book extracts every bit of horror from the panels and into our stomachs perfectly.
Overall Grade: 9.5/10
