Catch up with Longshots #1 here!
The Story
Starting off the second issue of Longshots, we see tv footage of what the Longshots have been up to in the last week. According to Baby Rogue, who’s accompanied by Baby Collosus and Infant Wolverine, the rating for the show have been sky high, the most successful show in years. During their talk show, the baby mutants made by Mojo sing of the success of the show while Longshot himself watches on with a chip on his shoulder. Longshot is feeling like a has-been, and his agent, Spiral, isn’t helping the matter by making him wait for Mojo to accept their offer.

Back to the show, Wonder Man, Hellcat, Bishop, Kraven the Hunter, and Rhino are ripping their way through the Revelation territories and leaving a bloody trailer in their way. While the audience is watching from home and putting their guesses in to the polls on who will get the first kill, or who will kill their teammate, they certainly couldn’t guess that both of those would come true. Mojo is throwing a fit having to deal with what’s going on on the show, but, that’s show biz.
Gerry Duggan and Jonathan Hickman bring a second issue that matches the energy of the first issue, which was a very strong start for this mini series. Longshots #2 has the entertainment value, the humor, and the cliche television tropes that we all love. What it also has is a surprise factor that I didn’t see coming. Longshots #2 is a fun read and a great time had by all and I can’t wait to see what Duggan an Hickman do next with the Longshots!
The Art
Alan Robinson keeps the good times going with his remarkable talents used in the artwork. Each character, who is so vastly different from the other, has their own light to shine without dulling the others. Wonder Man and Hellcat look incredible apart and together, but my favorites have to be the baby X-Men. While they all still have their signature looks, they look adorable as children.
Alongside Robinson is Yen Nitro, Mattia Iacono and Carlos Lopez who all handle the colors. Longshots #2 has a great mixture of vibrant colors and muted colors, making a brightly colored focal point on every page. Together Robinson and the colorists make a visually pleasing comic that’s consistent in quality all the way through.
Final Thoughts
Longshots #2 brings some of the same energy as the first issue, but even more so. It’s an excellent addition to the X-Men: Age of Revelation event with it’s high energy, great humor, and exciting story. Excelletn job to the creative team!
Overall Grade – 8.8/10

Thanks so much! Sorry for the late reply, I didn’t see this until now! I feel you completely! I’m so, SO tired of the negativity in the world! We should all talk more about things we genuinely enjoy and spread that positivity around!
