The Story

Danny Rand is back from the dead but only for a limited time. He’s racing towards Rand Tower but losing gas in his tank rapidly as he’s having to fight off the Wraithlins that have possessed the people of New York City. While this certainly does make his race to the building complicated, he didn’t count for one more complication: Daredevil.

Daredevil doesn’t know who he’s dealing with until he recognizes the fighting style as his long lost friend Danny, but even then, he still doesn’t know who he’s dealing with.

Jason Loo brings a second issue of The Undead Iron Fist that’s all gas and no breaks. The energy is high throughout the comic, with a break in scenes through flashbacks from a few months prior to when Danny was finding out the truth of the corruption of the Iron Fist Order. Even these panels are built in high tension due to the mystery of the truth.

The action is written extraordinarily well as it keeps you on the edge of your seat, mouth dropping at the fighting moves Danny showcases to use against the Wraithlins. Along with the fighting from Danny, you also see Daredevil who is just trying to make sense of it all. Daredevil brings a great balance to the exciting story of The Undead Iron Fist #2.

The Art

Fran Galán, the artist of The Undead Iron Fist #2, did a masterful job at matching the energy of the story with the artwork. Getting to see Danny in all his glory, taking out the Wraithlins while keeping Daredevil at bay was portrayed perfectly and kept your heart pumping with excitement.

Jim Campbell, who put in the work as the colorist, made sure that each page stood in its own light, and looked as beautiful as the past page. With the beautiful contrast of Danny’s yellow to Daredevil’s red, there’s a powerful juxtaposition at play throughout the comic. Together, the work of Galán, Campbell, and the fantastic lettering work by Travis Lanham, The Undead Iron Fist #2 is a gorgeous comic with artwork that keeps you on your toes.

Overall Grade – 9.2/10

The Undead Iron Fist #2 is an excellent follow up to the first issue that keeps the energy high and the action exciting. Jason Loo and the rest of the creative team continue to knock it out of the park.
