The Story
In The Vision & Scarlet Witch #4, we learned that the Grim Reaper isn’t the big bad of Graverealm. Even after all the trials he made Wanda and Vision go through, all the games he played with them, all the damage he caused, he was never the ultimate villain. After a magical battle between Wanda, Vision, and the Grim Reaper, the true villain was awakened.
The one true villain, the one the Grim Reaper is terrified of, turned out to be Gargantos. Now, Wanda and Vision can only depend on each other to have a chance of taking down Gargantos.
What started as action-packed and riveting turned into something much more. The Vision & The Scarlet Witch #5 ended up being a beautiful love letter written about the lives of Wanda and Vision and their love they share. Extremely unexpected, but beautifully executed by Steve Orlando.
What I loved about this mini series was the different depths of Vision we got to witness. With his new enhanced powers and emotions, Vision has never been more vulnerable in his ability to lose control, yet he still puts all of his trust into Wanda. No matter what the duo went through in Graverealm, they came out on the other side even stronger than before. The mini series proves the strength in their relationship and the never ending love they share for each other will shine eternally.
The Art
Jacopo Camagni puts on a display of mystical goodness and otherworldly energies that are at a whole new level. With a brilliant amount of details in each page, Camagni creates panels that will have you feelings like you really are in another realm.
Along with Camagni, Ruth Redmond handles the colors and absolutely knocks it out of the park. Together, Camagni and Redmond work exceedingly well together. There’s one panel that stuck out to me the most and it’s when Vision uses the power of a white dwarf star. That panel alone will make your jaw drop. Hats off to the artists of the comic, who was all gas and no breaks throughout this mini series.
Overall Grade – 9.1/10
The Vision & The Scarlet Witch #5 puts a whole new respect on the love the two powerhouse heroes share. Great job by the creative team!
