*SPOILERS AHEAD*

The Story:

James is slowly turning up the heat and intensity as though this is a pressure cooker waiting to pop off. I enjoy how he builds this anticipation through a slow-burning story while dropping hints and giving us a taste of what has yet to come. There is an underlying anger and devious tone to Jack.

It does not fade away, even when he shows affection to Flora. Kissing her on the streets and growing frustrated that he cannot do so openly. James is continuing to make Jack’s endgame one shrouded in mystery that keeps you on the edge of your seat in curiosity.

The Art and Letters:

Adding to the devious nature of Jack, Dani and Brad shade and leave details out of Jack’s face, which allude to his angsty nature and attitude. When he is with Flora, the duo continuously leaves half of his face in shadows. It giving us just enough detail that throw hints at us.

By leaving out facial details in panels, they add to the mystery and intrigue that this run is bringing so far. The way they bring bright flowers and at the same time a darkness to a page is something that I am enjoying as they slowly build this story.

Final Thoughts:

The Invisible Man #2 continues to build anticipation and intrigue as we know Jack’s endgame but not his full motivations. This slow-burning tale leaves us questioning just who is good and who is evil, all in the name of science and has me ready to pick up the next issue immediately.

Overall Grade: 9/10
